Safety Poster Winners
Rachel Tanner has fond memories of drawing and competing in a Safety Poster Contest in her hometown when she was young. She called the Seneca Falls Library and several village businesses, then she secured a judge and prizes for the first annual Safety Poster Contest in Seneca Falls.
Soon after, Posters on Safety came into the library and the judging was held. The First Prize winner is Conner Miller whose poster cautioned us to know the difference between legal and illegal drugs. Connor won a gift certificate to Waterloo Premium Outlet Mall. Second prize went to Victoria Poorman whose safety poster suggested that smoking leads to cancer - she won a gift certificate to Wal-Mart and Hannah Miller's poster, a reminder to look both ways before crossing won a gift certificate to Lollipops and Gumdrops. Jacob Hartwell's poster on bike safety and Darren Miller's poster on hand washing each won an Honorable Mention.
The Seneca Falls Library would like to thank Rachel for all her efforts. A thanks also goes out to the merchants who supported the poster contest. Mention thanks to them for supporting the community next time you shop in these locations. And, of course, thank you to the poster drawers, all children under 12.
The Safety Posters are on display in the Library until the end of May.
