College Expectations

Lisa Kaenzig, Dean of the First Year Class at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and Karen Green, Dean of Students at Wells College will discuss college expectations at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the Seneca Falls Library.

They will discuss the college perspective of the best way to present yourself to a college for acceptance, the pitfalls and common mistakes for students make applying to colleges and how to best match the student with the appropriate institution.

More than that they will discuss the common student first year jitters, and the stages that most students travel through on their way to settling in and becoming independent. An introduction to what to expect when you arrive on campus-for Juniors and Seniors in High School, but also, for the parents of first year students, too! Just how will we know how to deal with registration, when to declare a major, the library, sports, dating, study groups and where is the best pizza that delivers?
