EcoVillage in Seneca Falls

picture

Planning and information meeting: 7 p.m. Jan. 18, 2006 at the Seneca Falls Library.

How do we respond to the news that 50 percent of Earth's species may go extinct in this century? Or that the Oil Age may be coming to a close? Or that a typical American family uses more than 5 times its fair share of available natural resources? One response is to join with others who share a commitment to working toward a sustainable culture.

Our goal is to explore and model innovative approaches to ecological and social stainability. We would like to create a unique village, which includes co-housing neighborhoods, organic agriculture, an education center, and natural areas, preserving and restoring over 80% of the land as green space. The residential component of EcoVillage will be comprised of 3-4 tightly clustered co housing neighborhoods surrounding a shared commons.

If you are interested, we are interested in sharing our vision with you. Please come to the meeting, so we can join together and begin.
