Mynderse Library Receives $25,000 Grant

Mynderse Library received a $25,000 grant from J.M. McDonald Foundation, Inc. The grant money will be used to offset construction costs for the library's new building. Headquartered in Evergreen, Colorado, the J.M. McDonald Foundation focuses a portion of its benevolence towards non-profit capital projects in upstate New York.

Construction for the new Mynderse Library, which commenced May 24, 2002, continues to progress. Current activity includes installation of the roof, gas, water, and electrical. The windows will be put in place by the end of November. Chrisanntha Construction Corporation anticipates the building will be fully enclosed by the end of December and complete by summer 2003.

Mynderse Library Board of Trustees initiated its aggressive capital campaign, The Next Edition, in September 2001 and to date has garnered close to $2.9 million. The Board's ultimate goal is $3 million.
