Library Growing in New Building

The mission of the Seneca Falls Library is to serve the community's educational, informational and leisure needs through the provision of literary materials, programs, meeting venues and multimedia services.

Statistics: More than 1,500 new card holders have been added since the new library opened in November 2003 and library visits are up 50 percent. The library is averaging 100 new card holders each month. The Library is open 60 hours a week, including evening and weekend hours. More than 400 new books have been added since the library opened.

Programs: Monthly Speaker's Forum including the Well's Lecture Series, Junie B. Book Club, Shanken Memorial Film Festival, Middle School Homework Club, Reading Incentive Program, Mynderse Academy Community Service.

Collaborations: Seneca County Arts Council, Seneca Falls Middle School and Mynderse Academy, Wells College, Seneca County Elections, Seneca County Workforce Development, "It's a Wonderful Life" Celebration, Seneca County Tourism.

Meeting Room: Myndwich, Red Tent Book Club, Literacy Volunteers, House of Concern, Garden Club, Reading Club, Friends of the Library, Seneca Investment Club, Making Cents Investment Club, Scrabble Club, District 2 Polling place, Arts Council displays, Junie B. Book Club.
