Town Continues Generous Support
of Mynderse Library

The Town of Seneca Falls continues to demonstrate its support for Mynderse Library, The Next Edition campaign with a recent donation of $300,000. This brings the Town's total contribution to $636,000 including $86,000 it granted the library to purchase the property where its new building is under construction.

"Mynderse Library is a very worthwhile cause and one that benefits everyone. The Town of Seneca Falls receives revenues annually from Seneca Meadows and it is our agreement to put these revenues to good use. It is our hope that our community members will join us in support of this very important historic endeavor," said Peter Same, Town of Seneca Falls Town Supervisor.

To date, the library has raised a little more than $2.7 million towards its campaign goal of $3 million.

"The new building will cost us close to $2.8 million by the time it is complete and we need to raise more than this to establish an endowment to cover our operating costs in the new building. With generous contributions, such as the Town gave, I have no doubt we will reach our goal," said Sam Dickieson, president Mynderse Library Board of Trustees.

Mynderse Library broke ground on its new building in May 2002 and anticipates the building will be complete by spring 2003.
